Week 13 Growth Mindset: Rome Wasn't Built in a Day But...

...they were laying bricks every hour. This is a different version of the quote which I like because it keeps me focused. I think that this is a great phrase to keep in mind as finals approach and as I get closer to graduating I feel like I have to keep this in mind more and more. I always feel like I should be in a hurry to finish college, graduate PT school, get an amazing job, and then start making lots of money. Unfortunately that will not happen as quickly as I want it to... I feel like I may have to paint some reminders this summer to keep my head in the game! I have really been feeling burned out and going through this last semester with 19 hours has definitely taken its toll on me. I cannot wait for summer! I

Week 12 Growth Mindset: Difficult is Not Impossible

This week has been extremely busy! So it seemed like the perfect time to reflect on growth mindset. So with that in mind I chose the phrase: "Difficult is not impossible!".

I was put in charge of several things this week for my sorority all while balancing two tests, a group project, and an article review! I think that pushing through this week has taught me that some self-perseverance and good time management can never go to waste. I am going to continue trying to remember this mantra through finals week as more stressful events come my way!

Growth Mindset and Me

Paris was my old spirit animal tumblr
I have always been a perfectionist. Growing up in a house with an engineer and a pharmacist I quickly learned that everything takes time to get perfect, but that it was doable. I didn't like that as much as a quick return though. So learning about Carol Dweck and growth mindset this week was really inspiring. Throughout my college experience I have definitely learned to change how I approach classes. Both studying and taking on the challenges of harder classes has made me a better person, for sure!

Watching the TED talk with Dweck showed a lot of the interesting concepts of the Growth Mindset.  I think it will be fun to further explore this concept and keep working on my own thought process, reaching for my yet! Every time I see a challenge I will be pushing myself further and working on increasing my neuron pathways! Rather than focusing on all the obstacles in my way, I hope to focus on the end goal: Physical Therapy school.

My other personal goal for this semester is to find more joy in the small things. I want to really enjoy this semester, because it is my last spring semester at OU (I graduate next December). So with that I want to find every opportunity to utilize my time and explore the best of OU!
